In what will easily go down as the worst weather we have ever experienced in the five years we have hosted this tournament, the generosity and amazing spirit of all involved came shining through. We had rain all morning, rain all afternoon and then a massive downpour and storm midway through everyone's round. What did the record setting amount of golfers do with this weather and unfortunate turn? They made the best of it and had a great time.
The meal and memorabilia auction turn into a incredible night. A record price for the first jersey set the pace for what was an amazing night. Another highlight had an anonymous donor purchase two jerseys for $1300 each and donate them to a couple of the kids that have been recipients of the Jordan Zacharias memorial fund. From there, the generosity continued to flow and at the end of the night, we raised close to $47,000 for families that face incredible challenges.
Thank you to all who attended and kept a great attitude during the tournament and dinner. People overwhelmingly gave their support through purchases and private donations. Thank you to our corporate and hole sponsors. The organizing committee continues to be truly humbled with the generosity of everyone involved.
We have already booked in our tournament for next year. Mark your calendars for July 28th where we will do it all again!
